CAF Confederation Cup: Why Enyimba lost to Black Bulls – Olanrewaju

Enyimba technical adviser, Yemi Olanrewaju, has blamed fixture congestion and travel challenges for his side’s 3-0 loss to Mozambican club, Black Bulls.
It was Enyimba’s second defeat in Group D of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The People’s Elephant are bottom of the group with just one point from three games.
Olanrewaju said his players are tired as a result of fixture congestion and long travels.
“The scoreline did not reflect the true flow of the game. We were in control for a greater part of the match, but I think we lost concentration because of fatigue,” Olanrewaju said after the game.
“The goals we conceded were unnecessary. The first two goals came from corner kicks, and after the second, it became difficult to fight back. We arrived here only on Saturday evening after a hectic schedule.
“We had a league game on Wednesday in Nigeria, travelled to Lagos on Thursday, and left for Mozambique on Friday. It’s been overwhelming for the players, and the result is evident in our performance.”
Enyimba will need to win their remaining three group games to stand any chance of progressing into quarter-finals.
The Aba giants will host Black Bulls in their next game in the competition on Sunday, January 5.
