Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) for selecting Abia as the host state for the 2025 South-East Zonal Summit of the institute.

Governor Otti, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, received the leadership of the institute in his conference room on Thursday.

He commended the institute for its contributions to national development and urged its members to remain focused and committed to promoting service-oriented leadership across both private and public sectors.

The governor emphasized that the vision of his administration aligns with that of the institute, particularly in promoting efficient leadership for the benefit of citizens.

He recalled that since assuming office, his government has made significant progress in clearing arrears of salaries and pensions owed to workers and retirees in the state.

He assured the NIM of continued collaboration with the state government and encouraged the institute to explore new ways of instilling sound leadership values among the people of Abia.

In his remarks, the President and Chairman of Council of the Nigerian Institute of Management, Commodore Abimbola Ayuba (Rtd), said his visit to the SSG was part of the activities to flag off the 2025 South-East Zonal Summit in the state.

He commended the state government for the impressive infrastructural developments across Abia and expressed the institute’s readiness to partner with the government in driving developmental initiatives.

He also wished the Otti-led administration continued success in its projects and reforms.
