Premier League Club Nottingham Forest has confirmed the termination of Emmanuel Dennis’ contract after he failed to impress the club.
The Super Eagles forward joined the club from Watford in 2022 following his impressive performances for the Hornets.
He scored two goals and recorded three assists for the club in his first season at the City Ground before spending the following season with İstanbul Başakşehir and Watford.
The 27-year-old was on loan at Championship side Blackburn Rovers in the second half of last season, where he registered just one assist in six appearances.
Nottingham Forest announced the termination of Dennis’ contract with a statement on their website on Sunday.
The statement read: “Nottingham Forest can confirm that Emmanuel Dennis has left the club following the mutual termination of his contract.
“Dennis joined Forest from Watford in August 2022 and went on to make 25 appearances for the Reds. He spent time on loan at İstanbul Başakşehir and Watford during the 2023/24 season, spending the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Blackburn Rovers. We wish Emmanuel well for the future.”
Dennis started his career at Kwara Football Academy in Kwara State in 2015 before joining Ukrainian Premier League club Zorya Luhansk in 2016.
He has gone on to play for the likes of Club Brugge, FC Cologne, and Watford.
Dennis made his Super Eagles debut against Ukraine, coming on as an 82nd-minute substitute for Samuel Chukwueze. He has scored one goal in eight matches for Nigeria.
