Man Allegedly Punishes 12-Year-Old By Forcing Him To Eat Faeces

Aman identified as Godspower Idoho has allegedly forced a 12-year-old boy, Marvelous Jonathan, to consume both fresh and dried human faeces as punishment for defecating in his uncompleted building in the Isiokolo community, Delta State.

The incident occurred on April 9, 2025.

A family source revealed that Godspower and his friend, Abel Esowhode, rode a motorcycle to inspect the uncompleted building around 7 p.m. when they caught the boy defecating on the premises.

“Godspower immediately instructed Abel to hold the boy while he rushed home to fetch his wife and a cane. Upon returning, the trio reportedly subjected Marvelous to a brutal beating before forcing him to eat his own faeces. Shockingly, they then took him around the building and forced him to consume additional dried faeces left by others—amounting to five different portions,” the source said.

After the ordeal, the perpetrators allegedly gave the boy a sachet of water to “flush it down” before handing him over to his mother.

The traumatised family reported the incident to the police, but authorities allegedly dismissed the case, advising them to settle the matter privately.

“Later that night, Marvelous’s stomach began to swell, and he fainted around 2 a.m. He was rushed to the hospital, where he remains under intensive care,” the source added.

The boy’s condition continues to deteriorate, with severe abdominal swelling requiring constant medical attention.

The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Security, Engr. Udoka Emmanuel Chika-Dibie, confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters, stating that he has taken a personal interest in ensuring justice is served.

“I will take the matter up for the boy to get justice,” he said, emphasising the government’s zero tolerance for abuse and its commitment to protecting citizens’ rights, especially the vulnerable.

It was learned that the suspect, initially arrested and charged before a magistrate court, was granted bail after denying the allegations.

Authorities reportedly claimed insufficient evidence to file more serious charges, pending the medical report from the hospital where the boy was treated.

A Delta State human rights activist, Comrade Israel Joe, told SaharaReporters that the medical report was delayed due to procedural requirements.

Joe said, “The medical report is the key issue now. They charged him to a magistrate court, but I insisted he should have been charged under the VAP (Violence Against Persons) Law because this constitutes an unnatural offence.

“He should have been charged at a high court, where bail is not typically granted for such cases. Instead, it seems the case is being treated as a matter of the man’s word against the boy’s, as no incriminating evidence has been found. The suspect has denied everything.

“The only thing we are waiting for is the doctor’s report. The doctor treating the boy at the general hospital must confirm whether the boy’s symptoms align with the allegations—that he was forced to consume faeces. If the medical report supports the claim, we can proceed with stronger charges.”

The case is coming up again on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

Delta State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Edafe Bright, has affirmed the incident, noting that the case is already before the court.
