Ace actor and comedian, Okechukwu Onyegbule popularly known as Okey Bakassi has emerged as the traditional ruler of Umuihuocha Obohia Autonomous Community in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
Okey Bakassi has been designated as the Eze-elect of his native land and will assume the traditional title of Eze Okwe II upon his coronation.
His election was the result of thorough discussions and validation of his character, accomplishments, and strong ties to the community.
Although a date for his coronation ceremony has yet to be determined, the occasion is anticipated to attract distinguished guests, as well as traditional, religious, and political leaders from throughout the country.
The future monarch, who was born and raised in Imo State, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology.
The new monarch took to his social media handle to thanked the community for the mandate given to him and stated that a new beginning has commence in the community
He said: “Next level, service to community, Special thanks to the entire Umuihuocha autonomous community …. a new beginning.”
