CJN To Inaugurate 57 New SANs On Monday
The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, will on Monday administer the oath of office to 57 newly elevated Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs).
The swearing-in, which is part of activities marking the commencement of the 2025/2026 legal year of the Supreme Court, will take place at the main courtroom of the apex court in Abuja.
Supreme Court’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Festus Akande, confirmed the development in a statement on Sunday.
“In line with our age-long tradition, during the special court session, the Chief Justice of Nigeria will deliver a State-of-the-Judiciary address,” Akande said.
“This is with a view to highlighting the performance of the Supreme Court in particular and the Nigerian Judiciary in general, in the 2024/2025 legal year,” he added.
According to Akande, other key stakeholders in the justice sector, including the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, the Chairman of the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN), and the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), will present goodwill messages and sectoral reflections.
All programmes lined up for the ceremony are scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m.
