The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has announced a two-week commissioning of completed infrastructure projects in celebration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second year in office.

Wike disclosed this in Abuja on Saturday during a press briefing shortly after inspecting ongoing infrastructure projects in thecity centre.

According to him, the transformation in Abuja is so visible that “only the blind will say Mr. President has not done well.”

Quoting him, “By next week, we will be able to provide all the projects that will be inaugurated during Mr. President’s second year in office. It will take us about two weeks to inaugurate most of the projects.”

Among the major projects listed for inauguration are:

  1. The newly completed Arterial Road N16, connecting Maitama and Katampe districts.
  2. The 16-kilometre OSEX II to Wasa carriageway, linking Apo and Wasa.
  3. Arterial Road N5 from Lifecamp Junction to Ring Road III.
  4. The fully renovated Abuja International Conference Centre (AICC).
  5. The Greater Abuja Water Project.
  6. Multiple rural roads improving connectivity in underserved areas.

Wike praised the efforts of contractors, particularly the China Geo-Engineering Corporation (CGC), for their efficiency and quality of work on the OSEX II to Wasa route and the N16 corridor.

He noted the enthusiastic reception from residents and traders along the project routes, describing it as a clear validation of government performance. leadership, Vision, and Transformation

The Minister attributed the rapid infrastructural development in the FCT to the visionary leadership of President Tinubu.

“I’m happy to identify with the leadership of Mr. President and that is what Nigeria needs. All of you can attest to the fact that, indeed, Abuja has really changed. Mr. President has given first-class infrastructure to Abuja,” he stated.

Wike stressed that the transformation witnessed under Tinubu’s administration was undeniable and proof of the Renewed Hope Agenda’s impact in the capital.

“We are happy for it, and we thank God Almighty for providing the right leadership. I don’t see why anybody will say Mr. President has not done well. We are happy that we have fulfilled the promises we made,” he added

The minister also called on residents to take ownership of the completed projects and protect them from vandalism.

“These projects are for the benefit of all, and we must work together to safeguard them,” he said.

Wike outlined further development plans, including expanding water provision to satellite towns such as Bwari, Karu, and Kubwa, continued road construction and rehabilitation, school renovations, and enhanced security infrastructure across the FCT.

“Our priority is to improve the quality of life for all FCT residents, and we are dedicated to delivering projects that meet their needs and expectations,” he further said

THE WHISTLER reported that the minister on Friday, May 9, announced that the Abuja International Conference Centre (AICC) will be the first project to be inaugurated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as part of activities to mark his second year in office.
