2027: No Crack In Ondo APC – Kalejaye

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has dismissed reports suggesting internal divisions within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued by the APC Publicity Secretary, Alex Kalejaye, the party said it remains united and is growing stronger under the leadership of the state governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

“The Ondo State chapter of the APC is not polarised, as falsely claimed in a recent publication. On the contrary, we are waxing stronger and more united under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa,” Kalejaye stated.

The reaction follows a report alleging a brewing political crisis within the party and claiming that the state chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, had met with local government party chairmen in Abuja to make strategic decisions ahead of the 2027 elections.

Describing the report as false and misleading, Kalejaye said no such meeting took place and that the claims were concocted to stir unnecessary tension within the party.

“We want to categorically state that no meeting of such nature was ever held in Abuja. The local government party chairmen themselves were alarmed by the outright falsification and wicked imagination behind the story,” he said.

“We urge members and stakeholders to disregard the publication. It is a mere fabrication by those who thrive on falsehood and seek to create division within a cohesive and focused political structure.”

Kalejaye reiterated that all major decisions in the state chapter of the APC are taken with the full knowledge and endorsement of Governor Aiyedatiwa, who serves as the party’s leader in the state.

“No major decision can be taken in Ondo APC without the consent and endorsement of Mr. Governor. This includes matters relating to who contests for what position,” he affirmed.

The party’s spokesperson also used the opportunity to appeal to party members and the general public to maintain faith in the party’s mission and leadership.

“Ondo State APC is known for its cohesion and stability. The governor is determined to accelerate the physical and economic development of the state. We call for the continued cooperation of all stakeholders to achieve these goals,” he added.

Kalejaye assured party faithful that the leadership of the APC remains committed to promoting policies and actions that will benefit both the party and the people of Ondo State.
