Evening classical music as Lemuel Iyalla hosts ‘King Lemuel Recital Sponsors’ Concert’ at MUSON

Classical music lovers are in for a treat on Friday, May 29, as tenor singer Lemuel Iyalla hosts the “King Lemuel Recital Sponsors’ Concert” at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
Tagged an evening of “music therapy” by Iyalla, the concert will feature timeless pieces including “The Sound of Music” alongside other captivating performances.
The event is organized in partnership with The Nubian American Advanced College to unveil a series of classical music content for TV and social media space.
The lineup brings together some of Nigeria’s leading classical and jazz vocalists and instrumentalists. Joining Iyalla on stage will be soprano Rachael Adewale, baritone John Onosolease, basso profundo Ken Melo, JustinTall Miyiden, Chyke Martins, soprano Jennifer Maduka and Udoh Band. Pianists Adolphus Dikibo and Bright Kpalap will also perform alongside other established names in the classical music scene.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is expected as Special Guest of Honour, with Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, serving as chairman of the occasion. Other dignitaries include Chief Emeka Anyaoku, former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations, Dr. Bode Olajumoke, Mr Sam Amuka-Pemu and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike and more. .
“It will be an evening of performances, speeches, and enchanting music,” Iyalla said.
A graduate of Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from the University of Lagos, Iyalla was introduced to classical music at age 8 when his father enrolled him in the church choir in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He has since performed at several high-profile events both in Nigeria and beyond.
