Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard has reacted to his side’s UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg 1-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.
Odegaard featured as PSG defeated Arsenal 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium in England.
Ousmane Dembele netted the game’s only goal of the match to give the Parisians a first leg advantage over the Gunners.
Speaking after the game, Odegaard insisted that the encounter was just a half time.
The Norway midfielder, however, expressed confidence that Mikel Arteta’s side will turn things around in the second leg next week in Paris.
“Everyone is a bit disappointed with the result. We wanted to win here today and we wanted to do better in certain areas, but it’s just half-time,” Odegaard told beIN SPORTS.
“We have another game and we have to analyse today, learn from it and make sure that we go full gas into the return leg and be convinced that we can turn it around.
“That is the aim now. They have some great players and they play really good football, but as I said, we have to go fully convinced into the second leg.
“We have to look back at the game today, analyse it and make sure we learn from the few of the lessons we got today. It is another game to be played and we are going to be ready.”
Odegaard will now hope to lead Arsenal to victory when they face Bournemouth in the Premier League their next game this weekend.
