Transfer: Why I didn’t leave Barcelona for Chelsea – Lopez
Barcelona star, Fermin Lopez, has explained why he didn’t leave the club for Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
Lopez had drawn interest from the Blues during the summer transfer window.
But he ultimately ended up not leaving the Blaugrana for the Premier League west London side.
“The Chelsea offer? In the end, my priority has always been to stay at Barça,” Lopez was quoted by TouchlineX as saying.
“I came here when I was 12 years old. It’s always nice to have another club interested in you, but I always had the idea of continuing at Barça and succeeding here.”
Lopez’s contract with Barcelona will expire in 2029.
Meanwhile, Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick, had commented on Chelsea’s interest in signing Lopez this summer.
