Football transfer expert Romano Fabrizio reports that contract has been approved and is now merely awaiting De Bruyne’s signature on a two-year deal, with an option for a further season.
He further reports that medical tests will follow as the next step once the player signs the contract.
The Belgian announced towards the end of last season that he would be leaving Pep Guardiola’s side at the season’s conclusion.
De Bruyne is said to have rejected approaches from two Premier League clubs before reaching an agreement to join Napoli.
The midfielder was a key figure at the Etihad, scoring over 100 goals and providing 177 assists—the second highest in Premier League history.
Meanwhile, both Pep Lijnders and Kolo Touré will be part of Manchester City’s backroom staff.
City boss Pep Guardiola sees Touré and Lijnders as two options under consideration to be included in his coaching team.
This follows the departures of Juanma Lillo, Íñigo Domínguez, and Carlos Vicens from the Etihad.
