Sevilla sporting director, Victor Orta, claimed Jerome Adams has been unlucky with injury and has backed the striker to make a positive impact at the club.

Adams joined the LaLiga club from Ligue 1 outfit, Montpellier, during the winter transfer window.

The 24-year-old has, however, suffered two muscle injuries since his arrival at the club.

The injury has limited the former Flying Eagles star to just four league appearances for the Rojiblancos.

Despite the setback, Orta is adamant Adams will be a key player for the club.

“Due to two muscle injuries when he (Adams) has never been injured. What Akor has suffered has been unfortunate, but we will study why these injuries occurred. We have a lot of confidence in him,” he told the club’s official website.
