EPL: Mourinho speaks on Man Utd’s decision not to sack Amorim
Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has said Manchester United have taken the right decision by sticking with coach Ruben Amorim despite their disappointing season.
Under Amorim, United ended 15th in the Premier League, their worst-ever finish.
The Red Devils also missed out on qualification for the Champions League through the Europa League, losing 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in the final.
Mourinho was in charge of United when they lifted their last European title in 2017.
Amid calls for Amorim to be sacked and the 40-year-old himself claiming he could walk away, it seems the former Sporting Lisbon coach will be in charge of the 2025/2026 campaign.
Mourinho told Sky Sports: “From what I read, the impact [of losing Europa League final] on Man United, of course, it is huge in the sense of how many years Man Utd is not involved in any European competition.
“But at the same time, it looks like they are supporting Ruben. They are giving him time and conditions to go forward.”
