Éderson reveals Manchester United transfer ‘almost done’

Ederson of Atalanta BC celebrates with his team-mates his goal that was later disallowed by VAR during the Coppa Italia match between Atalanta BC and SS Lazio at New Balance Arena on April 22, 2026 in Bergamo, Italy.

Éderson Silva says that his move to Manchester United from Atalanta is “almost done”.

The Red Devils have reportedly agreed a deal to sign the 26-year-old for a £34 million (€40.5m) transfer plus £3.8 million (€4.5m) in potential bonuses.

Éderson is said to have agreed personal terms on a four-year contract with the option of an additional year.

Atalanta manager Raffaele Palladino last month confirmed that the midfielder will be leaving the club in the summer transfer window.

“It was a choice agreed with the player because there is something happening on the transfer market,” he said. “The fact that a player like him is being followed by such an important club should be a source of pride.”

Éderson, who will replace the departing Casemiro in the Manchester United team, will be Michael Carrick’s first signing since being named permanent head coach following his impressive stint as interim boss last season. He registered 13 goals and four assists in 138 Serie A appearances over the past four seasons.

Éderson received a late call-up from Carlo Ancelotti to Brazil’s FIFA World Cup squad following an injury to Wesley. He came off the bench for the Seleçao’s 3-0 victory over Haiti on Sunday.

Speaking to Sky Italia after the match, Ederson said: “I have to wait. Now I have to enjoy this moment, then we will see.

“Certainly, everything is almost done, but now I to enjoy this moment. This is a wonderful experience and you have to enjoy the most.”
