The defender is available for Monday night’s Premier League game against Wolves at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Maresca told reporters that Chalobah was recalled because they know him very well and he can help the team.
“It was quite an easy process [to recall Chalobah],” Maresca said of the club’s decision to bring back Trevoh.
“We have a few injuries, as you know, so we were looking for a solution and we thought the best solution would be to call back Trev.
“Firstly, because we know him very well and secondly because we know he can help us. So we went for that solution.”
