Ballon d’Or 2025: There are better players – Guti predicts winner
Former Real Madrid ace, Guti has weighed in on who he feels should win the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
According to Guti, there are better players than Paris Saint-Germain forward, Ousmane Dembele for the award.
He noted that if the award should be based on the 2024/25 season alone, then Dembele should win it.
Recall that Dembele won treble – Champions League, Ligue 1 and French Cup with PSG last season.
The France international recorded 48 goal involvements in 49 matches across all competitions for the Parisians.
However, the 28-year-old is expected to rival the likes of Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Barcelona duo Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.
Speaking to Marca, Guti gave his opinion on who should be crowned the best player this year.
He said via Madrid Universal: “I don’t really like the award. Sometimes titles matter, sometimes they don’t.
“It should be based on goals, assists, and key performances. If we go by the season alone, maybe Dembele, though I believe there are better players.”
