Two Killed, 30 Houses, Church Burnt As ISWAP Attacks Chibok
The Borno State Police Command has confirmed an attack on Banzir Village in Chibok Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports, suspected terrorists attacked the community at about 2:10 a.m. on Sunday.
The Borno State Police Command spokesperson, ASP Nahum Daso, confirmed the incident in Maiduguri on Monday.
He added that the command has deployed surveillance and an armed squad to restore peace in the area.
“Unknown gunmen suspected to be ISWAP/BH terrorists invaded Banzir Village Chibok LGA, shooting sporadically at the villagers and shot dead one Enoch Paul ‘m’ 32years, Josiah Paul ‘m’ 18years, while one Esther Yohanna ‘f’ 42yrs, Ali Johanna ’m’ 22yrs sustained gunshot injuries on the left hand and left leg respectively,
“The insurgents also set ablaze about thirty 30 houses together with Ekkilisiya “Yan-Uwa a Nigeria (EYN) Church, fortunately, no any worshipper at the church at the time of the attack, military patrols reinforced and repelled the attack, while the police and CJTF/hunters group visited the scene, victims/corpses taken to general hospital Chibok for treatment/autopsy.
“Military fob alerted for aggressive clearance operation, normalcy restored, while combined security teams are on intensive patrol.”
