Tinubu Pens Heartfelt Tribute as First Lady Oluremi Marks 65th Birthday

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, celebrated her 65th birthday on September 21, 2025 prompting an outpouring of tributes from across the political spectrum, including a deeply personal message from her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In an emotional seven-paragraph tribute, President Tinubu praised his wife’s unwavering support throughout their journey from political exile to the highest office in Nigeria.
“As you celebrate your 65th birthday today, I honour not only the love of my life, but also a woman whose quiet strength and enduring grace have been my steadying anchor,” the President wrote.
The tribute highlighted the First Lady’s role beyond the ceremonial, with President Tinubu acknowledging her contributions during their most challenging periods.
“Through every season, from the long years of struggle and political exile, to leadership responsibilities, you have stood firmly by my side with dignity, patience, and devotion that words can scarcely express,” he stated.
President Tinubu described his wife as more than a spouse, calling her “my confidant, counsellor, and the steady flame illuminating my path.”
He emphasised her influence on their family and the nation, noting that “in you, our children and grandchildren see the example of compassion and faith, and in you, our nation sees the true strength of womanhood; resolute yet tender, humble yet unshakably firm.”
The President also recognized the sacrifices made by the First Lady in service to the nation, stating, “Nigeria owes you more than many will ever know. In every sacrifice you made quietly, in every burden you carried without complaint, you have served this country as surely as I have, not from the podium, but from the heart of our home.”
