Talented Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has spoken candidly about his difficulties and frustration regarding his possible move from Belgian Jupiler League club KRC Genk.
The 23-year-old forward, who joined Genk in January 2023 after leaving French club Amiens, disclosed that his transfer from the Belgian club is not going as smoothly as he had planned.
Arokodare, who has been linked with other European teams this summer, stated in an interview with the media in Belgium that the transfer process is testing his patience and mental fortitude.
During Sunday night’s 2-1 loss to Standard Liège, the player — who had started as a substitute in Genk’s first three games of the season — came off the bench to score for the Smurfs.
“It’s very frustrating, not knowing what’s going on (concerning transfer). I’m trying to stay calm, even though my head is racing. But I have my friends and loved ones who keep me mentally stable,” Arokodare told Voetbalkrant.
“I can’t say anything about it, I don’t know anything about it myself.
“You hear rumours, I hear rumours, but have you heard anything concrete yet?
“I don’t know if I’ll leave this season or next,” Arokodare added during the interview.
