JUST IN: Fire Erupts At Lagos Fuel Terminal

A fire broke out on Friday at the Bono Energy Terminal in the Coconut area of Olodi Apapa, Lagos, triggering a swift response from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS).

The incident occurred at the fuel storage facility along the Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway. As of the time of reporting, the cause of the fire had not been established.
Firefighters were immediately deployed to the scene to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby facilities and critical infrastructure.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Shakiru Amodu, said emergency teams were actively working to bring the situation under control.
“The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is currently curbing a fire explosion at Bono Energy Terminal on Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway, by Coconut, Olodi Apapa, Lagos. Update to follow,” Amodu said in a brief statement.
As at the time of filing this report, it was unclear if there were any casualties as emergency operations continued.
