Ronaldo gives verdict on Arsenal’s Viktor Gyokeres

Al-Nassr superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has described Arsenal’s new player, Viktor Gyokeres as a ‘special’ footballer.

Gyokeres moved to the Gunners this summer from Sporting after his brilliant performances for the Portuguese giants last season.

During his time at Sporting, Gyokeres netted 97 goals in over 100 appearances across all competitions for the club.

However, Ronaldo, who began his professional career at Sporting, insisted that his former club will remain ‘competitive’ despite Gyokeres’ exit.

“I hope it is a competitive league. I always hope for the best for Sporting and that they can be champions again,” Ronaldo was quoted by Metro UK as saying.

“[Viktor] Gyokeres was a special player, but the team [Sporting] will have to adapt.”

Recall that Sporting signed Luis Suarez from Almeria to replace Gyokeres after the Swedish attacker joined the Gunners.

Suarez will now hope to fill the void left by Gyokeres at Sporting this new season.
