New Liverpool star Wirtz names best player in EPL
Liverpool’s new attacker, Florian Wirtz, has named Mohamed Salah as the best player in the Premier League last season.
He said he is eager to lead the line for Liverpool alongside the Egyptian danger man.
Wirtz moved to Liverpool from German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen this summer, with the Reds paying as much as £116 million (including add-ons).
The 22-year-old Germany international scored 57 goals and provided 65 assists in nearly 200 games across competitions for Bayer Leverkusen.
During a recent interview, as quoted by TBR, the forward was asked who he was most looking forward to playing with.
He said, “Of course, the whole team, but maybe Mo Salah. He was the best player last season, so yeah, I’m really looking forward to playing with him.”
Salah has been outstanding in recent seasons. Last term, the Egyptian helped the Reds win their first Premier League title in five years.
He scored 34 goals in 52 games across competitions for the Merseysiders and provided 23 assists.
