Rivers LG Boss Donates Transformers To Communities To Mark 100 Days In Office
The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chijioke Ihunwo, has marked his 100 days in office with a remarkable gesture of community development.
As part of the commemoration, Ihunwo donated transformers to various communities within the Obio/Akpor local government, addressing the pressing need for reliable electricity in the areas.
The beneficiary communities include the Anaka Community in Akpor Kingdom, the Eligbolo Community in Rumuokoro, and the Eledo Community in Rukpokwu.
Hon. Fredrick Ihuigwe received the transformer on behalf of the Anaka Community, while Weneka Chinda accepted the donation for the Eligbolo community, and Chief Samuel Amadi received the transformer for the Eledo Community.
The donation has been hailed as a significant improvement in the lives of the residents, providing them with access to electricity and empowering them to engage in productive activities even after sunset.
According to Dr. Amadi Eze, Senior Special Assistant to the Chairman (Media & Publicity), Ihunwo’s proactive approach to community development exemplifies effective leadership and a genuine concern for the welfare of the people.
He said the donation is a testament to Ihunwo’s commitment to improving the lives of residents in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
He added that the gesture has fostered a sense of unity and progress throughout the communities and is expected to have a lasting impact on the area.
The donation was made on January 28, 2025, marking a significant milestone in Ihunwo’s tenure as Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
