Nigerian gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo, has accused her former manager and label boss, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, of sponsoring bloggers to publish falsehoods against her.
According to Chinwo, Onyedikachukwu also hated Pastors Jerry Eze and Nathaniel Bassey to the point of sponsoring negative reports about them.
In an instagram post on Tuesday, the singer accused Onyedikachukwu of exploitation and bullying.
Chinwo alleged that Onyedikachukwu was behind a false rumour that Bassey fathered her child, a claim Bassey has denied, and filed a police petition against those responsible for the defamatory reports.
Chinwo fellout with Onyedikachukwu following her departure from EeZee Conceptz.
Afterwards, she accused the label and its owner of diverting about $345,000 from her earnings on digital platforms and events without her consent or proper disclosure.
But Onyedikachukwu denied the allegations. Chinwo has maintained that she was a victim of contract
Narrating her ordeal further on Tuesday, Chinwo alleged that her former managers created a hostile environment that pushed her to leave Lagos.
“He looked at me and said, ‘I made you who you are, and I will destroy you. I became scared for my life, and it got to a point where I had to move from Lagos to Port Harcourt because this man made the environment toxic for me. I’ve endured bullying. I’ve endured threats. Whatever he is doing on social media now is nothing compared to what I went through,” she wrote
Chinwo alleged that her former manager disapproved of her association with Nathaniel Bassey and Pastor Jerry Eze, going as far as paying bloggers to spread misinformation about them.
She said, “One of my major crimes was when I did a song with Pastor Nathaniel Bassey. Because this man hates Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, you went as far as sponsoring fake news about an innocent child, my son… You paid bloggers because you hate Pastor Jerry Eze. You will not want me to go for his event. The people you fight, I must fight them with you?”
Chinwo declared that while Onyedikachukwu may use social media to tarnish her image, her faith in God remains unshaken. “You have bloggers; I have God,” she said.
