Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas

The Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has delivered a warm farewell message to intending pilgrims on the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

Speaking at a pre-departure meeting at the Port Harcourt International Airport today, the Administrator expressed his gratitude to God for granting the pilgrims the opportunity to fulfil one of Islam’s pillars.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, he highlighted the significance of the journey and beckoned them to follow the steps of the Prophet Mohammed.

He emphasised the need for pilgrims to be disciplined, spiritually focused and law-abiding. “As you embark on this trip to the Holy City of Mecca, remember this is a symbolic season of holiness. It is an opportunity to grow closer to God and walk in the footsteps of the prophets.”

As you fulfil your spiritual duties to Allah, pray for the peace and development of Rivers State and Nigeria. Also, as you return, we wish to see that Hajj has instilled the essential values of unity, love, peace, and selflessness, among other things, in you,” he stressed.
