Osun PDP cautions, summons stakeholders over vote of no confidence

Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has cautioned stakeholders in Ife Federal Constituency over a purported vote of no confidence passed on some party leaders.

The state leadership urged all members and stakeholders in the constituency to immediately suspend any further actions that could escalate tensions, stressing the need to adhere strictly to the party’s conflict resolution mechanisms.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the State Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, and made available to journalists, the PDP directed that the status quo be maintained while efforts are made to address grievances internally.

The party reaffirmed its respect and confidence in its prominent leaders, particularly Prince Kola Adewusi, the Deputy Governor of Osun State, and Prof. Wale Oladipo, a member of the PDP Board of Trustees.

It described them as pillars of the party, adding that any complaints or disagreements involving them must be addressed through the appropriate channels rather than through public declarations or unilateral actions.

“The PDP in Osun is guided by laws, guidelines, and established processes. Any attempt to undermine these principles or weaken the authority of the party will not be condoned,” Bisi warned.

He disclosed that the state chapter has summoned the concerned stakeholders to a meeting aimed at resolving the issues amicably and reinforcing the spirit of unity within the party.

“We strongly appeal to all parties in Ife land to sheath their swords and embrace peace in line with the discipline and unity expected of our members by the people of Osun State,” the chairman added.
