NNPC Limited Achieves N1.05 Trillion Profit in May 2025

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited disclosed an impressive financial performance for May 2025, achieving a profit after tax of ₦1.05 trillion.

This represents a substantial 40.37% increase compared to April’s ₦748 billion.

According to the national petroleum company’s latest monthly financial summary, total revenue reached ₦6 trillion during the period, marking a 1.87% improvement from the previous month’s ₦5.89 trillion. Statutory payments totalled ₦5.58 trillion in May 2025.

“All financial figures are provisional and unaudited,” the oil firm stated.

Production metrics showed that crude oil and condensate output averaged 1.62 million barrels per day throughout May, while natural gas production stood at 7.35 million standard cubic feet per day. The corporation emphasised that these figures represent only its operational data, excluding statistics from independent operators typically reported by the NUPRC.

Retail operations indicated 62% petrol availability across NNPC Retail Limited outlets during the reporting period, while upstream pipeline systems maintained 98% reliability. The company also advanced technical solutions for the AKK gas pipeline project, specifically addressing complications at the River Niger crossing.

Evaluation work is ongoing on the OB3 River Niger crossing project, aimed at establishing optimal execution strategies.

“We are continuing collaboration with venture partners to accelerate sustainable production enhancement,” the national oil firm stated.

Completed maintenance activities in May included turnaround operations for the Trans Escravos Pipeline (TEP), OML 40’s Opuama flow station, and OML 17’s Obigbo and Agbada flow stations. The company’s three major refineries in Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna remain under operational review.
