Nigerian filling stations reduce fuel price after Dangote Refinery’s adjustment
Nigerian filling stations on Wednesday announced a reduction in the retail price of Premium Motor Spirit after Dangote Refinery lowered its petrol ex-depot price.
Filling stations in Abuja, such as MRS, Empire Energy, and others, have dropped their fuel pump prices, DAILY POST reports.
One of the managers of MRS Filling Stations in Abuja told DAILY POST on condition of anonymity that from Thursday, August 14, petrol would be sold at N885 per litre, down from N915.
This means that MRS has slashed its retail fuel price by N30.
“We’ve received a circular to reduce the pump in Abuja to N885 per litre from N915 starting from Thursday. We had earlier increased from N885 per litre to N915 three days ago. But with Dangote Refinery’s ex-depot price reduction, we are reducing our retail price back to N885 across outlets in FCT and environs,” he told DAILY POST.
Similarly, Empire reduced its fuel price in the nation’s capital to N946 per litre to attract buyers on Wednesday.
Ranoil, Emedab, Total, Salbas, and Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited filling stations in Gwarimpa and along the Kubwa Expressway are currently dispensing fuel at N945 per litre.
DAILY POST reports that Dangote Refinery reduced the fuel gantry price by N30 to N820 from N850 per litre.
