NEMA Launches Flood Preparedness Campaign In Ebonyi
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has launched the 2025 National Preparedness and Response Campaign (NPRC) in Ebonyi State to raise awareness and strengthen flood preparedness at the community level.
NEMA Director General’s representative, Walson Brandon, flagged off the campaign and called for proactive disaster management, early action, and inter-agency coordination in line with NIMET and NIHSA flood forecasts.
The Ebonyi State Emergency Management Agency (EB-SEMA) hosted the event, which drew stakeholders from key ministries, security agencies, NGOs, religious bodies, and women and youth groups.
Anne Aligwe, who represented Governor Francis Nwifuru, called for preparedness in flood-prone LGAs like Afikpo North and Abakaliki.
As part of the campaign, NEMA visited the Unagboke community for grassroots sensitisation in Igbo, shared safety flyers, and held a question-and-answer session on disaster risk reduction.
