Man’s hand chopped off, another injured in Jigawa village attack

Two men have been seriously injured in a violent attack in Fulanin Gidan Gona Danzomo village, located in Sule Tankarkar Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The incident was shared on Monday in a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X.

According to the post, the incident happened on Friday night around 8:30 p.m. in front of the village mosque.

“The attackers were armed with cutlasses and sticks. One of the victims, 20-year-old Samaila Sabo, had his left hand chopped off during the attack. Another man, 30-year-old Kabiru Haruna, suffered a deep cut to his left leg.m,” Makama wrote.

Both victims were taken to General Hospital Gumel for treatment, but due to the seriousness of his injuries, Sabo was later referred to the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kudu.

Makama revealed that sources from the community said the attackers came from Rugar Ardo Buya and identified some of them as Ali Haruna Dawa, Rulwanu Ibrahim, Sabi’u Hardo Buya, Dahiru Alhaji Murnai, and Ado, also known as “Dealer.”

“One suspect has been arrested, and security forces are working to find the others who fled after the attack,” Makama added.
