Man Utd captain Bruno Fernandes welcomes De Gea back to Old Trafford

Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United captain, has welcomed his former teammate David de Gea back to Old Trafford.

Recall that De Gea left Manchester United two years ago and eventually joined Italian side Fiorentina in 2024.

The 34-year-old shot-stopper is set to return to Manchester United to face his old club in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.

His current club, Fiorentina, will face the Red Devils in their final pre-season fixture of the 2025/26 campaign.

Speaking about De Gea, Fernandes said he could not wait to see his friend again and hoped the veteran goalkeeper would enjoy his return to United this weekend.

“David, my friend, I cannot wait to see you at the Snapdragon Cup,” Fernandes stated, as quoted by the club’s website.

“I hope you enjoy being back at Old Trafford, to see your fans, your house, your home.

“I hope we enjoy the day together. See you soon, my friend.”
