The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has presented staff and certificate of office to the 46th Alaafin of Oyo, Prince Akeem Abimbola
This was held during a brief ceremony at the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan.
The ceremony signals the formal ascension of the new monarch to the revered throne of Alaafin of Oyo.
Governor Makinde, in remarks, said the Alaafin of Oyo is not just a traditional ruler but a custodian of rich history and tradition.
The new Alaafin expressed gratitude to the people of Oyo and pledged to prioritise the kingdom’s development and welfare of its residents.
