Kaduna Senator Appeals for Increased Security In Southern Kaduna

Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, has made a passionate appeal for increased security presence in Southern parts of the state.

Speaking at a church service at the Fountain of Life Baptist Church in Kafanchan on Sunday, Katung expressed his deep concern over the rising cases of banditry and kidnapping in communities such as Kauru, Kagarko, Kaura, Zangon Kataf, and Kachia Local Government Areas of the state.

“My life does not matter to me now if my people are not secured,” the lawmaker said, his voice filled with emotion.

“My best prayer wish is that banditry in southern Kaduna comes to a stop,” he added.

The senator assured his constituents that security agencies were working tirelessly to address the issue, and warned youths against getting involved in criminal activities.

He also solicited prayers and support from the people, emphasizing that no leader could succeed without the backing of their citizens.

“We are working assiduously in collaboration with all security agencies and government towards ending banditry in Southern Kaduna. We will not rest until our people are able to sleep with their two eyes closed,” he said.

The Punch reports that the senator’s appeal comes amid growing concerns over the security situation in Southern Kaduna, where bandits and kidnappers have been terrorizing communities in recent months.

Earlier, the Baptist Conference President of Southern Kaduna, Dr. Donald Arak, commended Senator Katung for his people-oriented leadership.

“We are happy with your kind of leadership, which focuses on lasting legacies rather than the outdated practice of distributing money without tangible projects,” he said.
