Gyökeres, Max Dowman Give Arsenal Victory, Chelsea Beaten at Stamford Bridge

Arsenal would have ended the week with another draw in a row, but thanks to Viktor Gyökeres and Premier League’s youngest-ever goalscorer, Max Dowman, 16, who saved the day for Mikel Arteta by securing three vital points on Saturday evening, news.ng reports.

The visitors, Everton, thought they had perfected their plan with just a few minutes to the end of the game when Gyökeres found the back of the net in the 89th minute to put the Gunners in the lead, making it 1-0.

Arsenal, who are perfectionists in late-goal drama, particularly when the pressure is on them, were rewarded for their persistent press against Everton after 75th-minute substitute Dowman doubled the lead in the 90+7th minute to make it 2-0, further extending their Premier League lead by nine points over Manchester City, who are currently on 61 points.

Elsewhere, Chelsea were caged in a one-goal defeat by Newcastle United, courtesy of Anthony Gordon’s 18th-minute strike.

The Blues are currently in a situation begging for redemption after suffering a heavy defeat on Wednesday to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, conceding five goals.

Elsewhere, Brighton and Hove Albion secured a crucial away win, beating Sunderland 1-0, while the fixture between Burnley and Bournemouth ended in a goalless draw.
