The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has called on personnel to build on past successes by maintaining high productivity levels while reaffirming his commitment to staff welfare, career growth, and innovation.

Speaking at the first Corps Marshal’s Parade of 2025 on Monday at the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja, Mohammed commended officers for their dedication, particularly during the end-of-year special patrols.

“With your resilience and tenacity, we were able to contain traffic management challenges and create a safer road environment for all travellers during the Christmas and New Year celebrations,” he stated.

He also honoured personnel who lost their lives in active service, and extended condolences to their families.

Mohammed reiterated his administration’s zero tolerance for misconduct, and warned that while outstanding performance would be rewarded, indolence and unethical behavior would attract disciplinary measures.

“You must be prepared to respond appropriately to instructions, show excellence in your work, and avoid acts of indiscipline, including rumour-mongering, laziness, and any behaviour capable of dragging the image of the Corps into disrepute,” he cautioned.

The Corps Marshal reaffirmed his vision to position the agency as a global model for road safety and traffic management, as FRSC set to mark its 37th anniversary on February 18.

He unveiled plans to enhance staff welfare, and announced a boost to the FRSC Staff Cooperative Scheme and Housing Cooperative to provide affordable housing for officers.

He disclosed efforts to establish an FRSC-operated Healthcare Management Organisation to improve access to quality medical services for personnel and their families.

While stressing the need for digital transformation, Mohammed revealed that the Corps would soon phase out paper-based administrative processes.

He encouraged personnel to embrace technology and familiarise themselves with the FRSC Mobile App, launched last year, to stay updated on advancements in traffic management.

Speaking on career progression, he assured personnel that the 2025 promotion exercise would commence soon, which will begin with Deputy Corps Marshals before moving to other ranks.

He also reminded staff of the ongoing amendment of the FRSC Establishment Act 2007, and urged them to prepare for new responsibilities that may arise from legislative changes.

Mohammed called on personnel to submit constructive ideas through their superior officers, and pledged that no staff member would be denied their rightful entitlements under his administration.

The Corps Marshal reiterated his dedication to building a stronger, more efficient FRSC that prioritises safety, professionalism, and staff well-being.
