Football pundit Pat Nevin has claimed that Chelsea defender Reece James is worth £150 million.
He, however, noted that the Englishman’s main issue is his frequent injury spells.
James has been in and out of the Chelsea squad due to recurring knee and muscle problems.
Last season, the defender only featured in 19 Premier League matches for the Blues, scoring one goal and registering one assist.
In the 2023-24 season, the Chelsea academy product managed just 10 league appearances.
Nevin, a former Chelsea star, claimed that the defender would have been ahead of former Liverpool and now Real Madrid right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold if not for these injuries.
Nevin told BetVictor via GOAL: “If Reece James was fit, he’d be worth £150 million. He’s just stupidly good. He is that brilliant. There’s nobody like him. And honestly, I put him above Trent Alexander-Arnold.
“At his best, fully fit, he was unbeatable. His quality going forward was staggering.”
James, who is captain of Enzo Maresca’s side, led Chelsea to FIFA Club World Cup glory last month.
