In a proactive step to enhance community safety, the Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba, along with key government officials and security personnel, has officially sealed Century Home Owhelogbo. This hotel, owned by Chief Joseph Ovie Oghole, has been identified as a location associated with criminal activities.

During a visit yesterday to the scene of a tragic incident involving the kidnapping and subsequent death of Mr. Sunday Ogofotha, who was staying at the hotel, Ogorugba expressed his deep regret over these unfortunate events. He emphasized the serious nature of the crimes in the area and explained the rationale behind the recent restrictions implemented for public safety.

“The police are actively investigating, and we are committed to uncovering the facts and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable,” Ogorugba stated. He reiterated the importance of not disclosing all details publicly for security reasons, but assured everyone that efforts to preserve safety in Owhelogbo and the entire Isoko North Local Government remain a priority.

The Executive Chairman mandated the complete sealing of the property and issued a firm warning to individuals who use their structures for illegal activities, including kidnapping.

“Recently, I convened a meeting with hotel owners within the council, and it was noted that the management of this hotel was absent. During that meeting, we emphasised the need to maintain a manifest to track customer check-ins and check-outs,” he explained.

“Moving forward, we will take decisive action against any property owners who aid criminal activities in our communities,” he said.

Elder Ogorugba was joined by Hon. Pascal Emelauha, leader of the Isoko North Legislative Arm, Sir Vote Umukoro, Secretary to the Council, supervisors, aides, and representatives from security agencies.
