The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has raised N804.85bn at its Open Market Operations (OMO) auction.

This is based on the result of the auction held on Monday, April 29, 2025.

THE WHISTLER understands that investors showed strong appetite security by oversubscribing the OMO.

The CBN OMO auction was over subscribed by 111 per cent as it attracted N1.057tn. But the demand was lower than the previous auction held on April 25, 2025.

In April 25, the CBN OMO attracted N1.008tn from N1.391tn in subscriptions after offering the two N500bn OMO bills.

A breakdown by tenor showed that the apex bank offered two long-tenor instruments—329-day and 350-day bills—each at N250bn.

The 350-day OMO bill which will matured on April 14, 2026, recorded a massive subscription of N923.60bn.

But the central bank allotted N698.60bn at a stop rate of 22.73 per cent. The bid rates ranged between 22.4990 per cent and 22.9700 per cent.

However, the 329-day instrument which will mature on March 24, 2026 saw weak investor sentiment.

The 329-day OMO attracted a total subscription of N133.25bn which is 53 per cent of the N250bn offered by the central bank.

The bank allotted N106.25bn at a stop rate slightly lower at 22.69 per cent while the bid range was between 22.3200 per cent and 22.8900 per cent.
