Car Thief From Sokoto Caught In Minna

Operatives of the Niger State Police Command have arrested a notorious car thief, Shamsu Musa in Gbeganu junction area along Bida road in Minna.
The suspect hails from Kofan-market area of Sokoto State and was nabbed after a stolen vehicle case was reported at Kpakungun Divisional Police Station.
According to a statement obtained By THE WHISTLER, police spokesman in the state, Wasiu Abiodun confirmed that the suspect was arrested on Thursday.
His statement partly reads, “on November 27th, 2024 at about 1500hrs, a report of a stolen vehicle was made at Kpakungu Div, that at about 1200hrs, a Toyota vehicle with Reg. No. AE 594 MAK was parked at Kure market, Minna while the driver was seeking for passengers to convey within the market.
“Suddenly, on the return of the driver, he discovered that the vehicle had been taken away from where it was parked. On receipt of this, the Police patrol team of the Div and vigilante members embarked on an emergency patrol along Bida road, fortunately, the said vehicle was intercepted at Gbeganu junction, Bida road with one Shamsu Musa of Kofan-market area, Sokoto State”.
Abiodun further stated that the suspect confessed during interogation that he travelled from Sokoto State to Minna to steal a vehicle with two master keys.
“The vehicle and the master keys were recovered. Preliminary investigation is ongoing at the Div, and the suspect will soon be transferred to SCID for further investigation and diligent prosecution”, his statement added.
