Ambassadors-designate to UK, France and United Nations Receive Letters of Credence

The Federal Government has presented Letters of Credence to Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu, Ambassador-designate to the United Kingdom (UK), among other appointees, on Tuesday, news.ng reports.

The letters were presented to the ambassadors-designate by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.

Other ambassadors include Ayodele Oke – Ambassador-designate to France, and Senator Jimoh Ibrahim – Permanent Representative-designate to the United Nations, New York.

This means the ambassadors-designate have officially commenced their assignments in their respective host countries.

Recall that on March 6, 2026, President Bola Tinubu approved the postings of 65 new career and non-career ambassadors-designate to various countries and the United Nations (UN), following their confirmation by the Senate in December 2025.

The 65 appointees consist of 31 non-career and 34 career diplomats.
