Vardy not ruling out a Premier League return after Cremonese exit

Jamie Vardy will leave Cremonese as free agent this summer after the club’s relegation from Serie A.

Vardy signed for Cremonese last summer after 13 years at Leicester City, after the Foxes were relegated from the Premier League. The 39-year-old scored seven Serie A goals and added two assists in 29 appearances, but was not able to keep Cremonese in the division.

Following relegation, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the veteran will depart as a free agent. Vardy is not understood to be considering retirement and will instead seek a new challenge, despite being set to turn 40 during the 2026/27 campaign.

According to the BBC, Dutch side Feyenoord are among the clubs to have shown interest, while Vardy has not ruled out a Premier League return.

The forward, who scored 200 goals in 500 games for Leicester and won the Premier League’s Golden Boot in 2019/20, believes he is still capable of performing at the highest level.
