Liverpool are pushing hard to beat clubs to the signing of Hertha Berlin teenager Kennet Eichhorn.
The 16-year-old is regarded as one of German football’s brightest prospects and made 17 league appearances during the 2.Bundesliga campaign.
Hertha are aware of interest from leading clubs in Europe and Germany, with Liverpool working hard behind the scenes to secure a deal. Sky Germany are reporting that a new round of talks have taken place between the Reds and Hertha, to discuss a potential deal.
Borussia Dortmund are also keen on Eichhorn, though Liverpool are hoping a clear development pathway can help them win the race.
Liverpool are unable to officially sign the defensive midfielder until he turns 18 in July 2027. One option under consideration is Bayer Leverkusen as a loan destination for Eichhorn next season, before moving to Anfield next summer. A fee in the region of €10m to €15m has been mooted.
