Burnley vs Tottenham Hotspur – Match preview and team news
Burnley and Tottenham Hotspur meet at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon as both sides hope to translate recent flashes of quality into three vital Premier League points.
Thomas Frank saw the pressure lift slightly following Tuesday’s clinical 2–0 triumph over Borussia Dortmund. However, his side remains mired in a domestic slump. Spurs currently sit 14th in the table after four straight league games without a win.
Conversely, Scott Parker’s Burnley are showing signs of a “great escape” resurgence. Despite being eight points adrift of safety, they arrive buoyed by a resilient 1–1 draw at Anfield.

Team News
Burnley
Scott Parker continues to navigate an extensive injury list at Turf Moor. Josh Cullen and Zeki Amdouni are both out with ACL injuries. Jordan Beyer, Connor Roberts, and Mike Tresor also remain confirmed absentees. Zian Flemming and Joe Worrall have both returned to training this week. However, Flemming is considered “touch and go” for a starting berth.
Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs’ medical room has become even more crowded after Lucas Bergvall sustained a significant ankle injury. He joins a long list of absentees, including James Maddison, Mohammed Kudus, and Dejan Kulusevski. Pape Matar Sarr is unavailable after falling ill following his international duties. In positive news, Micky van de Ven and Conor Gallagher are available for league selection.
Form
Burnley
The Clarets are currently on a 13-game winless run in the Premier League. However, there are marginal signs of improvement in recent weeks. Parker’s side recently thrashed Millwall 5–1 in the FA Cup. They also secured a valuable point against Liverpool in their last league outing.
Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs boast the division’s highest share of points earned away from home at 66.6%. Only Arsenal have earned more points on the road than their 18 this season. Despite this, they have won only once in their last seven league fixtures. They will rely on their set-piece strength, having scored a league-high 11 goals from corners.
Predicted Lineups
Burnley Predicted XI: Dubravka; Tuanzebe, Esteve, Humphreys; Walker, Ugochukwu, Florentino, Pires; Edwards, Anthony; Broja
Tottenham Hotspur Predicted XI: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Gray, Gallagher; Odobert, Simons, Tel; Solanke
