Brentford vs Tottenham Hotspur – Predicted lineup and team news

Brentford host Tottenham Hotspur at the Gtech Community Stadium while they aim for a third consecutive Premier League victory.

Keith Andrews’ side currently sits eighth in the table after a clinical 4-1 win over Bournemouth. Consequently, confidence is at an all-time high as the Bees prepare to welcome their former manager home.

The hosts have relied on their incredible home form to mount a European challenge this term. Only a handful of elite teams have won more home matches than Brentford since April. Therefore, the Bees believe they can dismantle a Spurs side that has historically struggled in January. Meanwhile, the return of Kevin Schade to top form provides a lethal attacking option.

Brentford Team News

Keith Andrews confirmed that top scorer Igor Thiago is a slight doubt for this fixture. The Brazilian has scored 11 league goals but has been managing a persistent issue. However, Andrews praised the forward’s bravery for playing through pain in the recent wins over Wolves and Bournemouth. The Bees need to be careful with his workload during this congested festive period.

In defence, Sepp van den Berg remains a concern after missing the Bournemouth game with a knock. He will undergo a late fitness test to determine his availability. Furthermore, the injury list remains long with Fábio Carvalho, Antoni Milambo, and Josh Dasilva all sidelined. AFCON commitments also take away Frank Onyeka and Dango Ouattara. Consequently, Andrews may rely on the same core XI that secured maximum points last weekend.
