Arsenal winger Martinelli 'deeply sorry' for Bradley push

Gabriel Martinelli has issued an apology for attempting to push an injured Conor Bradley off the pitchduring Arsenal’s goalless draw with Liverpool.

The Brazilian made an attempt to push Bradley off the pitch so that play could resume at the Emirates, despite the Liverpool full-back appearing to have sustained a serious injury.

Bradley was stretchered from the pitch and departed North London on crutches, with Martinelli’s act sparking fury from Bradley’s teammates.

Several pundits weighed in on Martinelli’s actions at full-time. Speaking to Sky Sports, former Manchester United captain Roy Keane branded the 24-year-old an ‘absolute disgrace’.

Martinelli has taken to social media to apologise for the incident and revealed he has spoken to Bradley to express his regret.

“Conor and I have messaged and I have already apologised to him,” he wrote.

“I really didn’t understand he was seriously injured in the heat of the moment.

“I want to say I’m deeply sorry for reacting. Sending Conor all my best again for a quick recovery.”

The draw saw Arsenal miss the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to eight points. Liverpool remain fourth.
