‘Proud of you’, Adeleke rallies behind nephew Davido after Grammy loss

Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has been encouraged by his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, after missing out on a win at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

Following the announcement, Davido shared a message of faith on his X account, posting photos from the ceremony with the caption, “Oluwa Dey my side,” meaning “God is on my side.”

Davido responded warmly, saying, “Love u Excellency!!! We move ACCORDINGLY SIR.”

The singer was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category for his song “With You” featuring Omah Lay, but the award went to Tyla, who secured her second win in the category after previously winning with “Water.”
