Ruben Neves ready to reject Premier League for Al-Hilal stay

Ruben Neves is ready to reject a return to the Premier League and sign a new contract at Al-Hilal.

The Portugal international has been heavily linked with a return to English football this month, with Manchester United reportedly considering an offer for the former Wolves captain.

Al-Hilal were understood to be receptive to offers in the region of £20m for Neves, whose contract at the Saudi Pro League side expires in the summer.

However, Al-Hilal had not given up hope of persuading Neves to remain in the Middle East and breakthrough has now been made. Fabrizio Romano is reporting that negotiations over a new three-year contract for the 28-year-old are now at the ‘final stages’.

The news of an imminent agreement will end the hopes of Premier League teams to sign Neves, who made 177 appearances in England’s top tier for Wolves before his move to Saudi Arabia in 2023.
