Manchester City and Chelsea make contact with Palestra camp
Manchester City and Chelsea have made contact with the representatives of Atalanta right-back Marco Palestra.
Palestra is in-demand this summer after an outstanding season on loan at Cagliari in Serie A.
The 21-year-old scored once and provided four league assists, earning him the Serie A Best Defender Award for 2025/26. He was recognised with a senior debut for Italy in March, and has attracted notable interest from Europe’s top teams.
Inter Milan have made the signing of Palestra a priority this summer, with current right-back Denzel Dumfries set to join Real Madrid.
The Serie A champions have held talks with Atalanta over a deal worth in the region of €40m. Atalanta value Palestra at closer to €50m (£43.1m).
However, Sky Sport Italia claim Manchester City and Chelsea are posing competition to Inter’s interest.
Both sides have contacted Palestra’s camp to discuss a potential transfer to the Premier League, though neither side has yet approached Atalanta.
