Former Chelsea star, Joe Cole has urged Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes to leave the Red Devils.
According to Cole, the Portugal attacking midfielder is getting all the arrows from everyone, adding that it’s time for him to leave Old Trafford for a new challenge in the summer.
Fernandes has suffered from constant criticism at Man United in the past.
However, in recent weeks, he is one of few Man United players to have emerged with any credit so far this season.
Fernandes has been in fine form as of late, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in his last seven games in all competitions for Ruben Amorim’s side.
“If I’m Bruno Fernandes, I’d absolutely be looking for a move away from Manchester United,” Cole told Paddy Power.
“He is the first butterfly and he is getting all the arrows from everyone. He must go home at night and wonder why everyone is digging him out when he’s the only one pulling his weight in this team.
“There are others doing okay but he is literally dragging that club through this dire moment. When all is said and done and Bruno leaves United and maybe they return to the top, they will look back at this era and the only shining light will be Bruno Fernandes.”
Fernandes joined Man United from Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon in 2020.
